NCC Cadets of classes 8th to 10th went to Dyal Singh College, on 21st June in order to celebrate the International Yoga Day. We were asked to meet up in school early in the morning at 6 am
which personally was too early for me as I am used to waking up much later during the holidays, but it was only fitting as Yoga is supposed to be done early in the morning. Upon reaching the college there were already many other schools waiting for the area to be set up.
At around 7 am the Yoga instructor Mr.Tyagi had arrived and we had started the session. The instructor was clearly experienced in his craft as he was easily showing us how to do many aasans starting form simpler ones such as Sukhasana and Trikonasana to more complex ones such as Vrikasana and Salabhasna. Mr. Tyagi also told us how these Aasans are beneficial to us starting from better digestion to better breathing and it reducing the chance of heart problems.
Our ANO Mr. Rajesh Gaba also enlightened us with important information such as when and how these asanas can be done and added to the list of benefits Yoga has on our body and lifestyle. After we had done the asanas we were given fruits as refreshments and had a short photo session with the instructor. All in all it was an enjoyable experience and we learned a lot as well about Yoga.
P.S. We are eagerly waiting and excited for NCC Camp
